Invisalign to the Rescue for Straight Teeth

As the mom of a teen with crooked teeth and an overbite we know she will need braces. She’s worn a spacer for years to prepare her for braces which was painful and caused a dent in her mouth after removal. Now we’re looking for an alternative for metal braces since she’s concerned about being called brace face and other names.

Since Invisalign uses clear aligners that are practically invisible, my daughter feels relieved that she won’t be called names. We are in the process of visiting a second orthodontist who continually says that my daughter isn’t ready for braces. • Since teens are prone to lose things, especially my daughter, Invisalign provides up to 6 replacement aligners. Woo hoo!
• You can eat anything, corn on the cob, popcorn, caramel apples, etc. Just remove the the aligner.
• Instead of molds, which my daughter is terrified of, many orthodontists use a technology called iTero^® digital scanning system.

Personally I’m considering Invisalign as an alternative for regular braces for daughter and for me, since my teeth have shifted since years of metal braces during my teens. My daughter also has a fear of the dentist and orthodontist. With Invisalign there are less visits because there are no worries about tightening regular braces and those extra aligners are given in advance.
